Starting a new print newspaper in this day and age was crazy, but it was a very good read.
 
That's disappointing, it was a great source of info on the Knights.

Long-time opponent joins Herald team

FOR 30-odd years, he’s been the opposition. A very, very respected rival.

But as of Monday, Barry Toohey – formerly of the Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph and Newcastle Sunday – will be on the Newcastle Herald team.

It’s funny how things work out sometimes. Six months ago, Barry probably had no plans to leave News Limited and I wouldn’t ever have imagined him jumping on board with us.

But as he said to me on Friday: “Things happen for a reason.”

The bottom line is Barry is a good operator, a good bloke, and will be welcomed by his new colleagues and Herald readers alike.

So happy for him, I felt bad for the guy when he left his Telegraph job only to be at Newcastle Sunday for 10 odd weeks.
