Favourite recruit?

Having someone experienced who thrives on stepping up to take those pressure kicks is key. Hodko was in that mould (despite his struggle to kick long range goals).
(By no means am I suggesting we should recruit anyone purely for their goal-kicking prowess)

I agree that Lamb is a decent kicker and should only improve, he's learned some tough lessons that should hold him in good stead.

Haven't seen Ponga step up to the tee, would be a ton of pressure to put on the kid early on.

I recall a game last year, at home, where we scored a try late in the game. With little time left to get ourselves back in the game Lamb had to take the shot at goal. Might have been the game Hodkinson got sin binned, can't recall.

Anyway, lamb quickly set the ball up from the sideline, walked back a few metres, turned around without hesitating and punted the ball straight between the sticks.

Nobody in the crowd expected him to slot it over and showed their appreciation with a nice ovation and roar.

He should be our full time goal kicker next year.

In the under 16s Lamb went about 5 weeks without missing a kick and was close to breaking Joey's club record for number of kicks in a row. At the time he had a really elaborate pre kick build up - but when you really looked at what he did after all the prancing around, he took 3 steps and toe poked it in a dead straight line. He has cut out most of the nonsense, and still just takes 3 steps and kicks it clean as you like.

Don't forget buhrer in there too mate.
I didn't forget him mate. Backup hooker and backrower.
In truth he barely makes my team ahead of Griffin. Griffin has a better pass on him but I haven't seen him play out wide so Buhrer sneaks in even though it would Barnett at lock getting rested. Reckon Griffin would be better in the middle of the park.

Speaking of Griffin and the fact we are short in halves could he play No6 if injury happened, talking long term, several plus games, we are short in halves

I wouldn't say we are short in halves.

We have Hodkinson and Cogger who play halves full time, we have Pythian who can play in the halves apparently, and Johns who played halves some of last year though throwing him in to first grade might be a bit too much at the moment.
