Favourite recruit?

Wow this has taken of fast, I am looking forward to all the new recruits but mostly to Ese'ese, and Lillyman, the new recruit and the old warrior because forwards set up play and how good will the Safaiti boys be with all that muscle and fire power to assist them, the whole team benefits. Am happy with all our recruits, can't wait for 2018.

Browny was with bellyache when Nugget Griffin was picked up by the Storm, so you can bet he figures in Browny's first 17 calculations. Watson is the most interesting prospect and for mine he and Lamb will make a brilliant combination after a dozen or so games together.

Moga, he is a beast. Running off Watson and Lamb with a forward pack marching up the paddock.
It's mouth watering.

Cant make up my mind especially in the backs Moga is a beast , Ponga could be anything , Watson looks like a pocket rocket and SKD was good for us this year too ....After watching Griffin only twice this season I think he will be a great buy for us he has talent is tough and tackles hard and I think Guerra will be awesome too , but to be honest as far as the forwards go I'm looking forward to seeing how The Twins , Fitzy and King improve in the off season because they all put they're hand up and did the hard yards this season without too much experience under there belt and those four are the ones I'm most interested in watching ....

The Knights have made me so cynical, I used to be so hopeful but I've heard a player will be a beast for us, a combination will be mouth watering or we finally have a good forward pack so many times to be let down every single year. I'm now loathe to use any of that terminology until I see it with my own eyes on the paddock. All of our recruits have potential for disappointment so I'll wait till their on the field, the only thing that I'm confident about is that our depth is strong in most positions bar a few, that will keep us in good stead when injuries hit.

I think the difference is brown had this team having a real go every game. With the existing players getting much needed help, it will be a massive confidence boost. I think it's fairly crucial we start with a few wins, I think the players would lose faith half way through the season if we are sitting right at the bottom

I'm keen on watching all the new blood but my main focus is going to see how well our new spine gels over the first half of the season - Ponga, Lamb, Watson and Levi with a decent forward pack in front of them is a really appealing thought to me.

I think the talent is there and if Brown can get them settled down early to get the basics of high completions and minimal mistakes at the start of the season, we should see some really strong performances and be competitive no matter who the opposition is...and if that happens and the confidence builds, we could be in for a break out year for this young squad.

Depends which Guerra turns up if its the one that plays to his potential then he would be an awesome signing. If its the one thats played the last 2 or 3 yrs then he will be an avg signing.

Josh, I am with Billy on this one, Guerra is fast becoming a favorite of mine ( Apart from the fact that I am/was a busted A**e backrower ) to date he has said nothing nor done anything to indicate that he hasn't come here for any other reason than too add value to the Knights, however he can.

Your last line is a little off the mark and possibly ill informed, players are that structured these days they only go as well as the game plan allows their position to play.
In the last 2 -3 years Guerra has played in the dominate SOO side ( possibly even Aust ) and the Roosters came 2nd in the round games this year - Guerra was arguably the best forward on the paddock in the Finals game where the other Roosters forwards went missing against the Cows, he stood up when others shirked, if you call that Average I hope you aren't on our selection panel - although you might get a gig on the Aussie panel ( but that is another story).

As far as excitement goes Ponga and/or Watson will surely deliver given the opportunity although they both have a lot of developing to do to provide consistency required in the NRL.

Nutty, our inexperienced spine has the potential to be the greatest excitement and yet our biggest disappointment all in one, I say this with all sincerity, history has shown new dynamic spines rarely succeed nor perform in the first years due to the weight of expectation.

The best thing they can do is approach each game in a workmanlike fashion , role your sleeves up, absorb whatever the oppostion throws up, maintain the pressure by changing the angles of attack by feeding the "Big Brutes" and only unleash the dynamic step or miracle pass when converting opportunity into points.

Often Dynamic players use the "side step, dummies" that much it doesn't become the weapon it should be.

Ummm was he not dropped from SOO this year? Pretty sure that was due to poor form if im not mistaken? I watched a few of their games and he was only making 50 odd mtrs a game. Sounds like a fairly avg season too me. Most the last 3 yrs have been the same for him. Ask any Roosters fans and they will tell you they are glad he is gone. But hey what would i Know right!

Not saying he is a bad signing. Cause he massivly improves our side. Just hoping it is the guerra that we know he can be rather theb the one we have seen lately

It'd be great if our best signing for 2018 hasn't been made yet, there's still plenty of player movement to happen.

But for sheer patience and the built up expectation its hard not to be excited about Ponga running out for us.

Hard to say at this stage but I've got a feeling I'm gonna like Lillyman. Tough, reliable and a good motor. Exactly what we need too.

Imo he played quite average when the had him playing in the middle especially when he came off the bench. the games where he played really well was when he played on an edge. so if we play him on an egmdge he should be great.

Josh, the changes made in SOO 2 were made for specific tactical reasons, mainly to stop Fafita ( quicker PTB and sideways movement , Ask me one day and I will explain) not poor form , if you watched Game one you would know that he carved up when he got on.

I too watched all the Roosters and all the Knights and any other game that was televised ( I am a league tragic ) and 50 running metres is cause he was used to defend the middle third and averaged 40 tackles a game. if you watch the Roosters game plan you would know their structures don't allow any deviations ( ask SKD why he used to take the first towards the middle ( which means the 2nd row covers the wing D ) , props hit it up 2 and 3, 4th along the line to other wing occasionally Boyd would hit the "commitment line" , 5th cross kick back to SKDs wing (second rower covers the wing spot).

And I was talking to a few Roosters supporters on the weekend and they are devastated he is going, but as everyone knows with the CAP, retention isn't always about form (how do they free up space for Cronk).

Like you said what would you know !!

League these days is more about structures and discipline and being mentally as well as physically tough to put in every week in the most demanding arena , it has an effect both actual and perceptual.

I think Guerra will do whatever Brownie decides is best for him to do for the team, while he does that he will be in the side each week.

For the record I am a Supporter of the Knights , not a fan there is a difference.

Well said Simon and both Josh's lift your act guys and have some belief in the side. Get excited guys!!!!!

The recruitment Browny and Mooney have done is the greatest since 2000 when we signed Ben Kennedy from the Raiders.

Im 100% excited. Guerra is a great signing like i said. Just not in my top 5 most exciting signings for us. Maybe just scrapes in at 5 actually.
1 Ponga
2 Watson
3 Moga
4 Ese Ese
5 then maybe Guerra.

Very happy to be proven wrong as always and excited more then ever for the new season. For once we have a team that actually has to fight for there spots rather then a copy and paste team every week!

Mozza, If you like "old style" no nonsense, 100M man who can bend a line using a perfect "Kiwi Side step" , Jake is it.
