Brown has pulled major selection shocks for round 1 in 2016 and 2017.
No one picked the Saifiti brothers, Lamb and a few other starting in 2016.
No one picked Yates, Stone or Phythian starting in 2017.
The thing they all have in common is that they trained really well and Brown rewarded their efforts.
Everyone says Brown has selected the side already, but everything he has done in the past says the 17 guys who train best in the positions will be the guys he picks.

I think we have a lot of depth for next year. At the start of 2017 we had maybe 10 guys who were genuine firstgraders. Because we have trained up a lot of guys and signed a lot of guys, I believe we go into 2018 with about 25 firstgraders - so 8 of them will miss out.
I'd say most positions are up for grabs if some fringe guys have massive off seasons, and more importantly, anyone who slacks off will miss out.

Its hard to fit everyone in tbh. Unfortunately the likes of Fitzgibbon will start in nsw cup. But at least we have solid back up and options. Would love us to buy a good solid center too

1 Ponga
2 Ross
3 SKD
4 Moga
5 Sio
6 Watson
7 Lamb
8 D.Saifiti
9 Levi
10 Lillyman
11 Sione
12 Buhrer
13 Guerra
14 Griffin
15 Barnett
16 Ese Ese
17 J.Saifiti
18 Heighington
19 Fitzgibbon

Barnett was hard to put on bench but he is there to provide solid impact after 20 minutes vs a tired forward pack. Heighington would be in 17 if Sione moves back to center but dont see that happening. And even he knows he is more here for the off field side.

Not sure how people think Fitzgibbon wont start in NSW cup. With the depth we have in forwards he has 1 or 2 infront of him atm

That's just what I'd do, not necessarily what the team will be. In saying that if Fitsgibbon has a good pre-season and trials well, I don't see how he won't be considered for Round 1 considering his form at the end of the year. There's always a few surprising selections from teams after the trials. I wouldn't rule him out.

I'm with your side Aidos, with Levi and Griffin interchangeable.

I see no option for Sione in the pigs, thank goodness, with imports Guerra and Heighington and the form of Barnett and Browny's choice of him as the player of the year. Heighington and Stone will have to force their way into the NRL side, along with Phythyan, Hughes etc. What joy competition for places instead of copy and paste!

Before everyone gets into me about Daniel not starting he does deserve too but imo the twins coming on together fresh after the first 15 or 20 minutes would be devastating against a tiring pack ...Let Ese,ese and Lillyman take the brunt of the start of the game ...

No. Lock is by far his best position and is where he should play. Whether starting or off the bench i giess time will tell.

Since Barnett put on a few kgs he is a lock. When he first came here he was a 2fr all day. Still has the skills but moving lateral has been effected. 13 for me
