Why there are bright days ahead for the Knights

8 to 10 wins with our current signings. If we can jag a few more good ones (which is likely due to having plenty of money and other clubs needing to shed players to get under the cap) say Maloney and Graham ideally than we should win more than we lose.

Which means a lot of teams that weren't fancied are in the 8.

Brown doesn't get free pass next year.
He has the staff he wanted.
He has the players he wanted.
He is spending the full cap.
He is in his 3rd year.
Everything he wanted, he has now.
This is where the rubber hit the road for Brown. If he can't deliver with everything he wanted in place, it's all down to him.

Billy , you are a hard task master.

Agreed, a lot of teams are in line for top 8 due to the closeness of the competition and it has been shown time and time again experienced teams only need to be 5% off on any day to cop a spanking.

To be fair Brownie should be given some leeway, even though he has the staff , he is still trying to assemble the team he wants. By his own admission he is still chasing 1 marque half and 5 or 6 experienced players for padding which indicates Knights still have a fair whack of "Cap in hand" and means we still doesn't have the team he wants.

The risk is that if he tries to do it all in the small window before the next season starts with the Circumstances which have changed due to the current Cap problems some sides are speculated to be exposed to and to rush in now may mean some key players at bargain prices may slip through.

He may be in his 3rd year of coaching here but reality is he inherited a "Basket case " from those who came before him and is only just now seeing clear to turn it round in 2018.

If I was his boss I would be happy to see competitive improvement of at least mid field and the building of a team which has the right attitude building forward.

Lots of good signings so far but few top notch established players, still a relevantly young side where we finish will depend on future signings for 2018. Where we are now with what we have, barring long term serious injuries, I would be happy to well clear of spoon, say 8 wins, 20 points with byes. Three or four signings including 1-2 top notch then 10 wins plus.

U agree with me?
The world must be ending soon lol

Just because Brown may spend the cap doesn't mean our team is worth the cap.

We probably paid overs for all our new recruits. Not as bad as Hagan though. With time as we get more success we can get some to come for less. But that will take time.

Bennett said 5 years. Gould said 8 or 9 years. That is if we want to be a Melbourne/Broncos or Knights circa 2001 type team.

I do? I tried reading your posts but the unintelligible broken English is bloody hard to decipher. It's like trying to understand Tyrone Roberts.

But yes we should be in and around 8-12th place next year. If injuries are kind and we don't cop too many sh*t calls the Top 8 is a distinct possibility.
