Browny has lost the playing group

Of course he lost the playing group, his plan revolved around two major tasks. Building up our young roster and give them experience for next season, and buy actual nrl players with our massive cheque book available. So far he has only done one of those things which is not nearly close enough. Also he seems to not really focus on winning week in week out, having claimed the spoon so many months ago

Since the beginning of the year we have missed out on so many available signings:
Jarryd Hayne
Konrad hurrell
Nathan peats
Junior Paulo
Matthew wright
Michael Gordon
Chris grevsmul

On the fair dinkum level, that team is about half a salary cap's worth.
If that is your top 17, you have 3.5 million to spend on 3 Jarryd Haynes,

Only positive would be the only really highly paid player left would be Hokko. Leave alot of cap space for Brown to go on a buying spree with, whether anyone good would come is another thing. Honestly hope it doesn't come to that, that roster is so **** & it's not even counting in the many injuries & suspensions we get throughout the year.

You would assume they would be waiting for the new owner, than that new owner would do what Rusty did when he presented his plan to asostasi, vagana and kidwell at the same time.

Well Lefty, if they are leaving that is marvellous news. The leaders of the 'wait for payday and take it easy gang' that have been the problem for the last five years.

And we have not missed anyone Berger. They won't come here knowing this lazy only interested in the money problem.

And slots spot on old son!!! The four brothers are the worst thing since the Leyland P76!!!!

Can't you add them Lefty, pretty please?

A person close to Rochow has told me Mullen, Gagai and Korbin will all ask for releases end of the year.
Throw in Rochow, Stockwell, Uate, Tariq who are all already out of the door.
Alex McKinnon is also quitting his role at the Knights.
This not going to end well!
TBH I can't see Mullen going. Gagai and Sims, yeah. Gagai looks disinterested or misererable (or both). Both would have options outside Newcastle. If Alex is quitting, that's odd...and what about Buderus "leaving to pursue other interests"? That last one really got me going. I thought he was in for at least the next year or two. Maybe it's Brown or maybe they know more about the "new owners" that anyone is letting on.

I'll watch this space and if the three named players put in their notice, I'll be a believer. Not that it's beyond the realms of possibility, just one that's hard to get your head around. If it happens, it puts a serious cloud over Brown as a man-manager.

McKinnon quitting isn't weird to me, he isn't really an office person and based off his book and personality he'd probably rather be out and about then be stuck in an office all day. That and he's tried this once already and it didn't work out as well and he got bored/couldn't focus and his head wasn't in it. He has a job for life from the NRL and the Knights so might as well find something suitable.
Unless he has clashed with brown which is a different story, or he's focussing on the degree he's doing, who knows

Recruitment, retention, commercial role the usual stuff that gets thrown around

The way our recruitment and retention policy is working, maybe he's not suited to that roll. Who ever's doing that job has me scratching my head anyway!

1 Darius Boyd
2 Aku Uate
3 Kerrod Holland
4 BJ
5 Honeti Tuha
6 Carlos Tui
7 Tyrone Roberts
8 Kade Snowden
9 Adam Clydsdale
10 Adam Cuthbertson
11 Joe Tapine
12 Todd Lowrie
13 Stockwell

I reckon some funny stuff must get smoked during our retention committee meetings.

BJ, Cuthbo, Tapine and a fit Snowden would really add a world of difference to our team at the moment.

Only 3 of those guys are playing regular NRL (Boyd, BJ and Tapine) and none of them performed consistently when here! Not quite sure what your point is???? The others are playing in the retirement league or retired or not good enough!

Cuthbo was very good here. His stats were up there with the better players in his last 2 years at the Knights and it was extremely rare that he had a bad game for us. Very underrated player.
