Danny Buderus to step down as Knights assistant coach

So why did Griffin sack his Panthers coaching staff? Were they actually fraudulent or were they not clones of him (Bennett?)

That said I get why he sacks people like Ronnie Palmer who probably only have a handful of sponges' in their trainers kit. I reckon the club will struggle less with injuries now that his 80s style isn't there.

Cause that would be a down grade!
As I said before.

We sacked Stone.. Stone has taken this guys job... And now we want this guy?? Wtf for??
No no no no no no.
Garth would be great but Brown won't go there as he wouldn't want his assistant being a better player manager then himself

I'd sometimes wish we kept Stone as HC from 2012-onwards

Tell me if I am wrong, and I am sure you will, did not Anthony Griffin also sack all his coaching staff at the Broncs when he assumed command?

So do i of late,

He had us going in the right direction until Bennett came along,
Then when he got the job back after Bennett the team just did not have the respect toward him h needed andthe playrs in the side were not interested enough because of it.

If none of that happened, id honestly think we would be a very solid team right now and playing in 3-4 finals series in 5yrs.

I do hope Brown is given the time to build a team his picked and a team that will turn up for him! Though im not sure a new owner will accept this type of season or mediocre crap we continue to get with the same excuses

Rick Stone made the finals two times out of three, since he took over as head coach in 2009 till 2011. I also had belief for Stone back then. In 2011, when we made the finals, I watched the match completely and I thought we were in the top 4, that's how I felt in the match, we competed right to the end against the Minor Premiers the Storm, but just fell short by 10 points. If we had Stone as coach in 2012, we would of finished again in the top 8.

We also signed Bennett to win us a premiership then leave. We had Stone as coach who could've stayed for the next decade, and possibly be the next Craig Bellamy.

What makes you think Stone could've possibly been the next Craig Bellamy? I can't see where that comparison has come from. Stone could've just as easily been the next Jason Taylor.

Stone's biggest problem was that he wasn't a great recruiter (Beau Henry anyone?). Really his success came with the roster Brian Smith put together. In saying that I thought he was a good coach

Wanting 'nostones' back?

You guys are masochists he couldn't coach the local roosters. His one mistake was staying on when Uncle Benny strutted in.

What we were meant to say was we were thinking what could have been if Bennett hadn't signed as head coach in 2012...

I took it to far to label him Craig Bellamy in the next decade. Stone probably would of been just a good coach.

Nowhere was where we would have been. Forgotten already picking mates, terrible slack performances and no one dropped? The older one gets relic the bitter memories seem to mellow.

Jeez, guys - are you so depressed and lacking in confidence in Brown that you're talking about Stone like he would have gotten us somewhere? Also-rans at best. Bennett had some interest when he walked in the door, but a season later he was over it - that was obvious. He disrespected us almost as much as the other teams did, so that won't work. At least Brown has come in with his eyes wide open and if he can turn us into a top four side in a two or three seasons, his marketability as a coach will skyrocket - as well as his paypacket. He may well move on after that.

There is no way Bennett would have done what Brown did, and hurt his W/L record and chances at winning another premiereship at his tender age.
Granted they built the Broncos from the ground up with an entire state to choose from with the brown paper bags rolling in after they became an elite team but that's just been his style since. Don't blame him either, he's earned the right to pick his job. But I dont see him going to a club thats not well off roster wise again.
He doesn't seem to like being embarrased and that seemed evident when journalists leaked he was secretly hired to replace Stuart at the Roosters and had 'agreed' to a deal like with the Broncos before he backflipped and signed with the Knights. Just too much bad stigma.

Yes, it's gotten to this stage where all the serious Knights fans are starting to lose their marbles. #StoneAge3

Stone was a really nice guy but rubbish coach who didn't have the balls to make tough decisions like dropping your mates.

The club was right to sack him and appoint someone like brown that has a long term plan.

I don't like how we are currently a laughing stock but short term pain for long term gain I guess.

If we are still this rubbish this time next year I'll grab the razor blades as well, but seriously Brown is on course at the moment his clearing all the deadwood ATM that was on high money. It means this year we are playing nsw cup players and youngsters, but next year our youngsters will be much better with a preseason and knowing what to expect and hopefully 2-3 older heads coming into help out hodkinson, mullen, gagai and our regulars.

The most important "coaching" appointment to come is the new head of our "high performance unit".
We don't hear much about this apart from a few mentions from Toohey, but I assume Colin Sanctuary is not going to lead the fitness training for next season and we are looking for someone to do the job we have seen Hickmans and Sanctuary do since Wayne Bennett got to the club.
Apparently we had a guy lined up, but he is currently working with professional sides in the US, and they have made him offers too good to refuse.

The fitness training in the pre season will be very important to our future. We have never seen a younger squad and never seen a squad with as much potential to develop over a pre season. The club should pull out all the stops to sign someone very soon, and the fitness programme for next season should have top priority for everyone. A great off season will see so much improvement in guys like Pauli, Saifiti's, King etc etc etc.

Before five year plan came into place at Penrith they were accepting the fact they would come last the first two years with all the dead cap space, bit like us atm but not as bad, the thing To stomach is at least when we're on the rise teams like the storm and the Cowboys will be on the decline with their stars
