The talented future of Womens Rugby League will continue to progress and prosper through this years 2019 Harvey Norman Tarsha Gale Cup.

Played in a nine-a-side format, the Tarsha Gale cup continues to provide a pathway for under 18 emerging female stars.

Ten teams are included in the 2019 season with 13 competitive rounds, allowing elite players to excel to the Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership.

Saturday February 9 will commence the season when the St George Dragons take the field with Wests Tigers as a curtain raiser to the year ahead.

Mascot oval is where the 2018 number two, West Tigers, will be looking to take the next step to the top of the ladder amongst the competitive sides.

Emily Curtin of the Wests Tigers was the second top point scorer of 2018 on 157 individual points, behind Cronulla Sutherland Sharks player Quincy Dodd with 174.

All eyes will be on Maddison Weatherall for the Illawarra Steelers when they verse the reigning premiers, Cronulla Sutherland Sharks at Shark park. Weatherall was the top try scorer for the 2018 season, totalling 24 tries while making it to the top nine point scorers with 72 points.

The girls were up 22-0 after 15 minutes but like last year dropped off and have taken the foot off the pedal. It's 28-14 with maybe 10 to go.
 
Final score won 36-14. Started strong but definitely dropped off. Missing their best player who played in Indigenous All Stars last night but will need to improve against Illawarra, Balmain, St George and Penrith. They have a hard draw but should be up there with the favourites.

Beating the previously unbeaten panthers in such a dominant display is good, but oddly, Illawarra have jumped to the top of the table after a 56 point win over the Bulldogs, so we go from 1st to 2nd after our best win of the season.
