Tautau Moga charged with assault

I’d say he’d be getting 25% as well. Don’t see him getting the sack, but also wouldn’t be surprised with the club trying desperately to change the culture.

The article also says Moga was given an infringement notice for not leaving licenced premises in King Street, Newcastle after not being allowed to enter. He was later issued with a court attendance notice for common assault.

The plot thickens.

Worst case scenario would be Hunt and Mata’utia in the centres, with Barnett/Buhrer getting that bench spot.

He never going to live that down good old papi.

Moga could be made an example of if he pleads or is found guilty.

Pearce also in strife. Geez just start the season and give them something to do already.

I’d say no . As they are still being paid their contract amount . Just being Fined and have to pay the club back .

Agreed. Counting these payments towards salary caps then indirectly punishes clubs and other players for one player’s indiscretion. While it’s solely that player’s mishap, it also shows that actions consequences for the entire team.

How and if the money is dealt with is not relevant it is the stupidity of the action and the perceived action of typical players especially Knights, good conduct by all players and no fines is what we want and need.

Although im still against Jacobs fine this one with Moga sounds pretty cut a dry you cant just go slapping people for any reason pissed or not so what ever the club do I will back them 100% whether it be fined or sacked .

Seeing as though this is a new precedent and contracts have already been signed, we should definitely have clauses in the contracts from now on.

There would be no need to pay the club back, the players get paid monthly or fortnightly, and the club would simply adjust that players future remunerations accordingly.

Club probably does not have clause in contract specifically about 25% penalty, but for sure they have allowance for penalises for poor behaviour etc, without specifying actual amounts. I doubt the Knights would put a specific percentage in the contract anyway, the existing contract covers it.

Very wise, as per usual Kurriboy. Bad behaviour clauses exist in contracts referred to as 'brining the Club into disrepute'. The 25% may well be a maximum and the Board would have the power to decrease this amount as they see fit. This has been done with the 50% of the fine suspended to ensure better behaviour.
