Nathan Ross

If the last 2 years have taught us anything, it's that once your cards are marked, your time is up, and contracts at the Knights should be printed on toilet paper so you could actually use them for something.

To be fair bill loyalties dead in all clubs, and in a way it has to be.

Brown may actually be showing Ross some respect by giving him this news. Ross is not likely to start in the NRL next year unless we have injuries, we just have too many players in front of him now.

By telling him he is free to leave if he can secure a better position elsewhere Brown may be acknowledging that he has been good for us the last few years, not so much this season, and rather than just let him languish in reserves unhappy, he is saying hey, rather than play reserves here, if you can get a spot in 1sts somewhere we are happy to let you go.

Doesn't mean we are forcing him from the club.

That's not really any different to any other club though mate and when we get rid of a player we always seem to still be paying them , even when they are playing somewhere else and that's because of contracts .
I know its a bit rough sometimes but the club has to go with the best players they can to be successful and if that means we have to get rid of players who arnt as good as we hoped they would be or arnt playing to the standard you thought they would , then you have to cut you're losses and get someone better .
Imo Brown has done a great job , he has got our cap under control . He got rid of all the deadwood and has bought very well so far , he missed out on a few players but the ones he bought especially in the backs are pretty bloody talented …

We keep talking about how well Brown has done with our cap cleanup, how well he has recruited, but Mooney deserves equal credit for that result also.

Moons is gone, jury is out on how the recruitment is going to go from here on out. Not saying Brown is not up to it, along with Pezet, just saying it wasn't all Brown in the first place.

Considering Mooney had final say on recruitment and was described as the hardest working person at the club I'm not sure why anyone would be giving brown the credit.

The hate you have for Brown is very unhealthy Bill!
I gave him 2 years, but now all I see is poor man management and no one improving - except Ponga - but he's a freak.
If he actually did any good work, it was in the first 18 months and it was all just sacking guys.

Probably because he's the HEAD coach,
You know the same guy we criticize when things aren't going well.

Id bet my house on it, that if we had poor buys and got another spoon, you wouldn't be saying sack Mooney....

If our recruitment and cap management were terrible, yes, I'd blame the head of recruitment.

Just like if our on field performances were rubbish I'd blame the coach. Which I do.
