Because his new....... You know like Felise has worse stats than any of our NSW cup forwards but people are wetting themselves over him?
What’s so bad about playing a bloke we bought to the club to give him a chance to prove his worth? NSW Cup stats/form mean nothing once a player steps up to NRL level. Meaney wasn’t exactly setting the world on fire in reggies either but he was given his chance and went fairly well. King is the exact opposite - does well in cup, but shyte in firsts. No one is wetting their pants over JJ at all, wanting to see how the bloke goes to see if he’s worthy of another contract/depth doesn’t hurt us in any way.

Any chance a player might respond by giving him a chance in first grade ? It's all or nothing for Felise. Playing for his future against the Club that let him go should give us an idea of what he's got. Bugger reserve grade form that's like trying to back a winner at Randwick off Bong Bong form.

If they were struggling at bong bong I would not back them at randwick. I hope he goes alright, i personally would give saulo or amey a shot before felise

a problem.

You never know they might convince him to play wing until Guerra retires.

If a player is not playing to NSW cup standard, I don't see how rewarding them with a first grade jumper is a good idea.

First grade jumpers should be earned and it should be up to NSW cup players to pick themselves.

I do like the fact we’ve made him wait for it a little bit. Make him a bit hungrier & not come to the club thinking he’ll automatically jump into first-grade. Need to set a culture where players can’t just come to Newcastle expecting to be given everything.

Though now is the time to give him a shot, we brought him over for a chance, so let’s see what he offers. If he can bring even just a little bit of speed & impact, then it’s probably an improvement on our current benchies.

Well Brown said he’s earned his jumper, so he’s obviously seeing something you’re not. Either way, playing him is a win-win for us. If he’s good enough and proves his worth than we can give him another deal, if not we can say our goodbyes and chase someone else.

Wingers are what $300k? Backrowers are $600k plus.

Love the guy. One me my fantasy league and a lazy $600 :)

For mine, wingers are just as important these days. His kick returns and finishing ability is worth that. I don’t know why we put price tags on positions. When the price tag should be on what the player is capable of/ what we need at the time.

He will have to move into the back row eventually you would think but.

Where's he playing when we have Guerra, Fitz and sione.

Brown loves size in the backs.

I would have him on the wing, if that’s what he wanted to do. If he signs for forwards I’d have him second row with Fitz, Guerra lock and Sione at centre with Ramien
