That's my point, with us likely to loose Lillyman and Heighinton for 2019 and a scarcity of available forwards we should be considering and enquiring about any forward that plays regular 1sts for a club then if suitable to our needs make an offer.

Im sure the powers at be do enquiries on 90% of players available mate, they know what they want and are willing to hold off if it feels like the best move.

Lane aint much chop and many know this.

You have'nt been watching him play lately to say that the last game I saw him play he outplayed Kapow (no mean feat) and was called by all commentators as best player on the field and has been playing well up till then too mate ..This season he has outplayed anyone in our side except Maybe Ese,ese but of course he isn't good enough for the 3 time wooden spooners hey

Outplayed marty did he? When? Ever?
He mostly comes off the bench for a reason at Manly.

Manly are going shiphouse and he till only gets to start in the backrow when 1 of the 4 player in Thompson, Jake Turbo, Winterstein, Gosiewski are out of the side.
Heck they didnt even offer him a contract..... cheap good solid player and cant get a contract at the club he's at....

Don't you worry, they would be making all sorts of enquiries behind the scenes. Just because the media doesn't catch on to everything doesn't mean they aren't out there. Brown & Mooney are just picky & have been willing to wait for the right options.
 
Bloody hell im spewing we didn't sign this kid he had another bloody good game and against Melbourne scoring 2 try's he is improving all the time grrrr.

Agreed that he would be a solid addition, but the simple fact is that he has signed somewhere else and there’s no point pining over what could have been. The club has done a great job (IMO) of identifying solid prospects (Ponga, Ramien for example). Have faith that while we’ll miss some, the club will swoop on some other great prospects and build a strong side.
 
How do you dodge a bullet with a 6'6" 115 kg back rower prop/ Lock that is young cheap playing good footy scoring try's and consistently improving ..Thank Christ we dodged a bullet there we wouldn't want to sign any one like that heaven forbid they might have stuffed up our spoon collection ...
