Cheers. I thought it’d been way longer.

I think this game will prove to be a massive low point in our season, Titans will do a job on us.

Hope our boys don't underestimate them.

It does have some Knights vs Tigers wooden spoon battle vibes to it from last year. But, it is a new year so no one really knows. I'd be surprised if our boys are confident enough to take them lightly, if we lose I feel like it'll just be because the Titans will just outplay us. They have a lot of good players.

I have seen nothing to suggest our defence will improve and the weather will be perfect, so I'm thinking we will see a close high scoring game.

Gold Coast Titans v Newcastle Knights, Saturday 3pm at Cbus Super Stadium

Titans: Kevin Proctor needs to get through training on Wednesday to be a chance of playing the Knights. Titans coach Garth Brennan suggested Bryce Cartwright will come into the side if Proctor is ruled out. Nathan Peats was 100 per cent fit last week but was given another week as a precaution so is a confirmed starter.

Knights: Jacob Lillyman and Jamie Buhrer could be late inclusions as the Knights search for a balance in their forward pack.

last year playing the first game on a Saturday was the best time slot because you got to watch the U20's and reserves before the Knights game. this week fox hasnt got any lower grade game before ours. WTF?

Agree, miss seeing all three grades, looking for future stars in u20's, possible 1st graders in reserves and then main game, very disappointing to say the least

I believe it is a winnable game, just depends what the mindset is of those that are involved and whether they can work for each other instead of going through the motions.

Will be interesting to see how the boys handle the expectation of winning in this match, so far all our games this season we haven't really 'expected to win' it's been more a case of believing we could win. Against the Tigers last year the boys folded under similar circumstances.

Brown does seem to swap his bench players a lot without much obvious reasoning, he's left out Yates for Jake because the bench was 'too small' and Slade could do Yates job of playing 13 for a spell, why couldn't Brown see this last week? Levi has also been dropped and recalled randomly this season which has obviously pissed him off. I think Brown is still struggling to find a happy balance with his pack and what roles he wants each forward to play.

Titans are a very dangerous side with some class players anyone taking them lightly is foolish.

i think this is one of those games where we will either win by plenty, or lose by plenty. game will start out close and blow out one way in the second half. i just hope it goes our way.

Yates is a good defender but gives us nothing in attack he is just too small to be an attacking forward and to be honest i wouldn't have him in the side either .
Unlike a few on here i like the way Griffin plays he takes that couple of steps from dummy half and pulls forwards towards him before he passes and imo he has it all over Levi and i wouldn't have Levi in the side at all as long as Griffin is fit .
I have watched every game a few times and hardly ever does the halfback get smashed because it took too long for him too get the ball so Griffin isn't that slow and i reckon its because that couple of steps he takes worries the opposition forwards and either keeps them back or brings them towards griffin rather than going for the half ...

Not a first time this would happen slots.

Beaver did it more than once at the silvertails. From memory, which is getting old and frail, one season he bagged around the 23 mark.

Didn't realise Fitz is our leading try scorer, would be weird to have a second rower win that award.
Our leading try scorer in reserves is second row Sam Stone on 4 (one ahead of second rowers Brodie Jones and Pat Mat - both on 3)
Our leading try scorer in under 20s is second row Beau Fermor on 8 (leading the whole comp for tries).

Pretty weird co-incidence.
