Tim Glasby announces his retirement

Assuming we have Moga back and firing and Ramian locking down the other centre position I expect that'll push Ross back to the wing (if his form is good enough to hold a spot) or maybe to reggies if Sio is up to scratch.

I'm not looking to reignite the Sione discussion, but unless he displays some outstanding form he's in strife, especially if we manage to sign another quality outside back as hoped.

Early days on Moga, hope he does come back. His intent will be, has to have that mindset to commence long slow hard work rehab but after a few similar injuries has to hurt the confidence a bit, good luck to him

Much much better.

In what way exactly? Ese beats him for pretty much every stat. Was in Queensland's forward pack last year? Korbin Sims was a pubic hair from making it too. He's probably liked because he's a good trainer/reliable etc. but he's not better than Ese'se, especially not much better as you say.

I expect Moga to start in reserve grade, it'll have been a year, huge injury, can't just walk back into the side. Sione might get a reprieve there for a while as Moga gets some games together.

Lol @ Glasby being better than Ese.

I get there is excitement we signed someone. I'll bide my time till next year when he is putting out the same numbers he is now, and being torn down on the forum for being average.

But i dont think you can look at stats unless you compare minutes too? and avg hit ups compared to those meters gained?

Averaged over 50 minutes a game in 2017, and in the team that won the comp.
I like Glasby but not for 600k if thats close to correct.

I'm happy we signed him, he will be a good replacement for lillyman or heighington.

But he isn't the forward signing we need to move this club closer to that premiership window.

Yeah ill agree with that. We still need that workhorse prop. But atm our squad is looking good

1 Ponga
2 Ross
3 Sione
4 Ramien/Moga
5 SKD
6 Watson
7 Pearce
8 Ese Ese
9 Griffin
10 Glasby
11 Barnett
12 Fitzgibbon
13 Guerra
14 Levi/Lamb
15 D.Saifiti
16 J.saifiti
17 King
18 Lamb/Levi
19 Sio
20 Moga/Ramien
21 Yates

Hopefully we can still add 1 or 2 more props to improve on the bench/reserves and ill be very happy next year!

Glasby seems to play a lot in the 13 jumper, maybe Brown sees him as a 80 minute lock for us?
Guess it depends on Barny on the edge

Comments from DSaf

Daniel Saifiti says the recent signing of Melbourne Storm prop Tim Glasby is a great inclusion to the nib Newcastle Knights squad for 2019.

"He's worked hard at Melbourne, he's had his time as a young bloke coming through and I would learn so much from him," Saifiti admitted before the signing was officially announced.

"He's definitely a player I look up to and can learn a lot from."

There has been a dearth of experienced props at the Knights in recent years, and Saifiti says Glasby will be able to replicate the impact of 2018 signings Jacob Lillyman and Chris Heighington.

"They have been really good to us young boys, showing us tips."

"We're soaking up as much as we can from them so hopefully we have all three of them on next year, making the front row much harder."

Can't believe we are constantly rating a signing buy how much we think/believe he is being paid. Why can't he just be a good player who will improve us or a bad buy cause he is no good, let the experts deal with the cost etc especially when mostly it is rumour or here say. This forum is hung up on cost when we often are only guessing.
