Playing Buhrer at 6 just for his defence is putting a lot more pressure on Pearce's kicking game which is what a lot of people on here were complaining about when Watson was 6 .
Watson was a running 6 with no Kicking game now you want a 6 with no kicking or running game ....
So many of you weren't willing to give Watson a chance and were screaming for Lamb to take his spot now your all screaming for Lamb to be dropped and some for him to be let go and cant wait for Watson to come back ...
Sometimes this forum is a bloody joke ...Thank God Brownie is the coach ..

Buhrer is a ball playing lock and a backrower that is known for his hole running and footwork.

Ive been all for Watson to get a decent chance.
Ive been all for Lamb to get a decent chance.

Our defense is the biggest concern atm, we are leaking more points than last yr atm.

We cant score 30pts a game every week to win,
So what do you suggest Ethan?
Coming on and blowing a fuse cause people want to see changes to the areas that need fixing is no better than the ones that only come on to put the team down.

What a load of rubbish mate i was the one standing up for the players so that's just **** coming from you and i didn't even mention you but you took it too heart though that says a bit ....
Also if Buhrer is a hole running forward with footwork i haven't seen it yet because everytime he gets the ball he gets smashed and driven backwards hence the reason a lot of people wanted him dropped so his speed and footwork around forwards hasn't been very good and backs are usually quicker ...
I would give him a go at 6 though to see if it worked but expect our attack to suffer ....

All this talk about needing a great roster doesn’t mean a lot. The Tigers have one of the weaker rosters in the comp but are getting results through discipline and desire. There is no reason whey we can’t do the same.

If we can win 1 of our next 2 and go into our run of home games with a 4-4 record we’re in a good spot. We’re a different team at home and at our best we can compete with anyone at home.

I agree. On paper the Tigers have no real stars just a lot of honest workers and average first graders who have obviously bought into what Cleary is trying to achieve. However if you look at their roster they do have quite a bit of depth to rely on that most other clubs don't. Again none of these players are superstars but at different stages the Tigers have won without the following players in first grade for differing reasons. Lolohea, Fonua, McIlwrick, McQueen, Grant, Reynolds, Godinet, Nofoaluma and Milne. I'm sure the Knights would love to be in the position to have had a Reynolds, Nofoaluma or even a Godinet at a pinch to come in to replace an underperforming Lamb or Mata'utia, let alone be five from six having already played some pretty handy sides.

I think you are spot on that attitude and desire can go a long way to beating a great roster.

Go have a read buddy, ive said it since before the season started that Watson needs time, ive said the same for Sione and Lamb also.
Even last week i was still backing them.
Though the facts are facts, we need to plug the holes up somehow.

So please tell me what you would do? Since Buhrer doesnt fit the bill in your opinion.
Or are you happy to watch us get beat by 30pts another 10 times this year?

Using the eye test I agree, but then the results say we've only done it once this year. Hmm.
If we hold onto the ball the points will come. I’m sure of that. When we’re in the opposition 20 for the first time in a long time I’m confident we’ll score points. We just need to be disciplined with and without the ball to get in that position.

Ponga and Fitzy have shown the points are there. Just need better ball control.

The idea of Buhrer at 5/8 does not really appeal to me, but then again what options do we have other than Lamb and Cogger who did not impress last time he was in the NRL? At least Jamie would tackle and not end up sitting on the grass when bumped off.

As i said when i wrote that i didn't mention you at all i just said some people , to be honest if we got beat in 10 games by 30 and won the other 10 by 1 point or more i would be happy yes , for this season...
Maybe not so happy if it was happening again next season .
Although we have had a couple of run ins on here i agree with most of what you say and if Buhrer was given a go at 6 i would be very happy if he made a fist of it , i just want what ever works for the team .
IMO our defence would be better with Buhrer there but at the moment our attack is coming along but it would suffer with Buhrer there and I'm not sure that is better for the team .
I'm not even sure that Lamb is the Problem I think its Sione running up out of the line leaving a hole that Lamb has to try and fill and to be honest I'm not sure what the answer is , Maybe Stone or Dennis to centre .
Maybe swap lamb and Sione in defence that might stop Sione running up out of the line . Maybe Buhrer to 6 IS the answer but i still think that Lamb and Watson when he returns are a better fit at 6 ..Defence can win you games but you don't win games unless you score points either so Buhrer at 6 to me is a bit of a vicious circle maybe give away less but score less ...

What's the difference? With lamb on the field he doesn't kick the ball, is too scared to run and kills momentum whenever he gets the ball.

At least with buhrer at 6 we know he can defend...

I didn't want Watson dropped for Lamb, I wanted one or the other...

Lamb is not defending he has to be dropped... Craig dropped his young half, worked fine for the Storm.

No idea who plays 6 as long as its not Lamb.

We must be watching different games as I’ve seen lamb kick the ball plenty of times.

People on here made up there mind really quickly that Watson needs to be dropped for lamb. Now people have made up their mind quickly and want lamb dropped. If lamb defends ok on the weekend and plays descent in attack, people will be quick to make up there mind and say that he should remain at 5/8. It’s just the way it goes on here..

I have seen him kick also, but anyone can kick a ball.

We need someone that can have an effective kicking game and running game, unfortunately at this stage lamb doesn't possess either.

So for that reason alone I would rather have buhrer in the side as we know he can defend way better than lamb, and keep the kicking game to Pearce.

That used to be the knights with Brian Smith, never seen a guy deal with injuries so well from his time here. Almost seemingly the next guy slots in.
I remember a game against the raiders where Mullen and Rogers were the halves and mullen went off and was gone for the night and somehow Rogers led the team to a victory.
Yet likewise had no stars, even less then the tigers

One year lost both starting props for the season, and still made do.

It’s only 6 rounds but now without the lazy guys in the Tigers team the attitude transplant has worked well. I think they’re here to stay

A bit left field and I’m sure the footy brains here will tear it apart but what about slotting Levi into 5/8. He’s use to the contact, can pass and will have a run if needed, not sure what his kicking game is like though.

With Pearce & Ponga as involved as they are, we could realistically put anyone at 6 & make do. Preferably you'd want someone who can put in an occasional kick though, because Ponga isn't really doing much kicking. Though I'm sure he can & will probably be good at it, but at the moment he & the team are just trying to lay down the foundations of his career first before he starts trying to do too much. I'd give Cogger some games & bring in Buhrer if he struggles in defence. Finally Buhrer will be of some use this season without needing injuries to occur.
