Re the Storm try where Sione came out of the line to put a shot on Munster. It wasn't a terrible read at all. It was a great read just a terrible tackle. I'd expect an under 11 to make that tackle 9 out of 10 times. The Fox then carried 2 more over the line to score. No way a bad read just pathetic defence.

Agreed.

We need a centre now but. There has to be one out there. It would be likely we will find another player or two before July.

Other 1 on 1 misses that led to tries include Kelly v manly, mitchell v chooks and Aitken v dragons (carbon copy of Munster miss).

Not to say there isn't plenty of poor reads too though.

If our right edge features lamb next to sione again brown has lost the plot.

This is the best side imo atm.

Geez you're right, what else can we find to pin on lamb while he is the whipping boy? I think I heard Lamb sneeze during KP's first two attempts at goal last night, I'm sure KP would have slotted those is not for lamb.

So Sione's idea of defending is to just bolt up and try to shut down the play before it gets to lamb lol. I can see Browny in training now, look Sione, Lambs a bit of a liability so if the ball comes your way just bolt out of the line and do your best. :giggle:

Lamb and Sione both do a good enough job of pinning **** on themselves.

Lamb has to go for me. His defence has been very avg in fact his whole game has! Not sure who in lower games has performed tho.

You really want to see sione contesting high balls against modern wingers and defending the flank? would be comedy gold.

NRL stats say Watson currently has 82% tackle efficiency compared to Lamb's 84%.
Watson has decided to try to come back without surgery on his shoulder, so he will have one side he can't put his shoulder into a tackle and will probably have one weak arm.
He has nothing to lose by trying to play on - either way he won't be back to full fitness till next year - but I don't fancy his chances.
Both Lamb and Watson are being targeted this year. Lamb was spared a bit last year because other sides had Feeney or Hodko to run at.
Anyway - we need a Steve Simpson to look after Lamb or Watson - whoever we play.
When we had Luke Walsh in the side, if other sides wanted to run at him they were going to get the lump of concrete known as Steve Simpson shoulder attempting to cave in their ribs, so they held off a fair bit.
Barnett is probably the only defender we have that might make people think twice - all our other defenders are pretty soft - maybe Eseese.

Don't think we can consider anyone else but the 21 selected V Storm, no one is crying out to be selected and although I haven't watched/seen the reserve grade results indicate it's not good, we had the top try scorer last year in Hughes what has happened.
Agree we should try Safiti boys starting at prop with Esee at 13. If Lamb dropped to try Buhrer then keep Levi on bench with Barnett, if fit, along with Lillyman, Heighinton/King. That would mean Yates, Denniss, Lamb and Heighinton/King to reserves. Sione? Possibly Denniss either centre/wing with SKD.
Don't think it is necessarily a better side but it's time to try something.
