2018 Harold Matts and SG Ball

Not a good result for our boys heading into semi finals.
We looked completely out gunned in the middle. Parramatta completely dominated us up front.
Our halves looked disjointed Madden - Crossland. Which didnt allow our outside backs Alexander - Best into the game. But even when they did they didnt do much at all.
Not sure how Crossland is but he has a serious issue with his shoulder. Couldnt tackle towards the end at all.

Big game next week v Penrith. Hopefully Crossland is ok
All the result means is that they were desperate to win, and we weren't. Whole new ballgame next week.

No disrespect Bill. That's a cop out. Pretty poor excuse if you ask me. We are round 9. Nothing to do with desperate at all. Parra have been very dissapointing this year specially after loosing key players in key positions and results over past 4 weeks have shown that.
Parra have a firmidible forward pack who majority all played and started in Ball a year young last year.
If anything todays game showed our own dificientcies.

Lets see what our excuse is next week when we again play a very big pack Penrith.
Credit needs to go to Parra. We should be better than that this time of year.!

It happens in round 9 every year. Kids playing their last ever game of league have the game of their lives, and upsets happen.

Whole new ball game in the finals.
Penrith are always good in the finals because their franchise has so much experience in making the big junior games, but in recent years we have been as good or better than them.
No reason we can't win these games, even if they beat us a few weeks ago in both grades.

Agreed, Finals are a whole new ball game and what happened during the season is irrelevant now

@Billy interested to hear your thoughts on Kodi Crowther, Best position etc ??
They have had him on the left and right wings in different games and a bit of time at centre in one game I saw.
He is an averaged size but very powerful and fast compared to others his age.
All I've seen is a winger who takes all his chances to score. Can't remember him passing the ball at all.
It's his first year at the club, so he could develop heaps of skills still, but just a pure athlete on the wing so far.

HAROLD MATTHEWS CUP

The Club's Harold Matthews Cup side earned a spot in the first week of the finals after finishing fourth overall for the 2018 season, with notable wins over the St George Dragons (40-6 in Round 1), North Sydney Bears (52-0 in Round 3) and the Sydney Roosters (56-18 in Round 6).

The Knights will come into the first week of the finals against the Penrith Panthers at 4.15pm this Saturday at Leichhardt Oval.

SG BALL CUP

The Knights' SG Ball side finished this season in third place, and are well equipped for a tough finals series.

With an impressive 7-2 record so far, competition top points scorer Jock Madden (128) will be aiming to steer the Knights to victory over the Penrith Panthers.

The two teams last met in Round 5 with the Panthers defeating the Knights 32-16 at St Marys Leagues Stadium.

Although the Knights put on a strong performance, a massive performance by Panther Matt Burton, who scored three tries and converted four goals, was too much for the Knights.

Head coach Scott Dureau has named an 18-man squad to take on the Panthers at 5.45pm at Leichhardt Oval this Saturday.

1. Starford TOA
2. Toby MARKS
3. Timanu ALEXANDER
