Sione Mata'utia re-signs with the Knights

Put sione in at 13 so he understands how hard the middles work in defence and might stop rushing out of the line. At 2fr he never really experienced the back to back to back tackles.

For me Dan it is sad all the hype he had placed on him following the Australian selection for the World Cup when he must have been about the ninth winger picked. Youngest ever blah blah.

I saw a fair bit of Sione in NYC and I think he matured as a player at 18-19 as Islander lads do mature early. He dominated that competition.

The weakness on that right edge defensively was Lamb.

As for Ross, nothing overly special tonight but I just like the way he looks in the centres, as I did a couple years ago when he played a few games there.
He’s more involved which is a huge plus and looks good enough defensively to hold his own, even against Roberts.

Lamb was always 3rd man in on tackles and needs to learn that when body hits deck get back. He was staying for 2-3 seconds too long, you just can't get away with that in firsts.

Sione's issue is every time they spread the ball wide, he rushes up breaking the D line and leaving a hole. He needs to just stay there and slide. Your kidding yourself if you think Ross was no better than Sione tonight.

You must have watched a different game!

Sione could kick a field goal in extra time after running 300m and make 94 tackles for us to win a GF and the same suspects would bag the kid. Hasn't lived up to the wraps sure and I think he should strongly consider retiring but some of you blokes are dead set kidding with the continuous onslaught. And no Kurriboy I watched the right game and from where I watched it there wasn't a micky hair between Ross and Sione.

Your entitled to your opinion, I'm not bagging Sione necessarily but Ross was well ahead of Sione tonight.

I really don't get where this massive save Sione sentiment is coming from either. Some say people gun for Sione's head and no matter what he did people would call for it regardless, you could say the same the other way. No matter what he does there will be those defending him.

Personally, I just don't see where he fits in to the team next season.

I thought Ross was great with his kick chase highlight being the jump that almost seen us score. I'd be surprized if they werent pretty much equal in defence while I thought Sione had the edge in attack. I can't bag anyone tonight not even the coach.

I agree with not being sure where he fits in next year(Sione).

Although Sione hasnt been a world beater he has been our best centre so far this year.
His defence needs some work but so does Moga's and Ross'. Sione's strong carry's out of our end have been great for us.

Ross’ 1 missed tackle was against Roberts when he came back to tackle him again anyway. Did a really good job on him I thought.
Shouldn't be counted as a missed tackle. The ball wasn't passed it was still the same tackle in the set.

People are raving over Rossy game last night though Sione was great imo.
Made some very strong carries and was pretty solid in D.
Sione 117m 17tks 3mt
Ross 68m 14tks 1mt
I guess Ross did his stuff in noticeable periods whereas sione just goes about it. Sione impressed me last night especially carries out of the danger zone. His d needs work but we all know that
