Rumour: Knights chasing Dylan Napa

Good to see a different POV on this.

You don’t think he will team up with the boys (ex roosters) and get up to mischief and be a distraction to the rest of the team?

Wests wont allow idiot behavior off field, im sure in every new contract they would have clauses for things like that.

Always think that big hard running/tackling forwards win you games by allowing your backs room to play but the signed player should fit into the system rather than disrupt it. IMO CamGill looks better and steadier than up and down Napa. If we have room we should consider as long as we leave enough to sign a back or two to strengthen team all round.
Another thing to remember is we may need some of cap to upgrade some current players who are developing such as Fitz, Lamb, Dan.
Just a thought but do we really want another rooster, the more of that culture means more risk of trouble.

Napa has not done a lot lately if its cause he's unhappy that's not professional CamGill on on the other hand has come back from back injury to play for Australia no comparison

We are trying to get a premiership window open here, no doubt about that. Pearce would not have come here just to run 9th each year.

If we are adding more players to the roster that better the team then I'm for it. Let management actually manage them through contract clauses etc.

We have 1 million left in the cap plus next season we have Lillymans money and Heingingtons as well as Hodko's $600,000 and Uate's $200,000 to $250'000, i guess we will be front loading a few contracts this season so next season we should have a motza to spend ...
So what will that leave us next season about $2.2 million at a guess , plus the cap goes up...
Napa was being called the best prop in the comp there for a while he was monstering everyone else , if he isn't happy where he is and wants out that will effect his game and the chooks know how good he is because they wont let him go ..
Gillard last season was all class and we should spend whatever he wants to come here ...These 2 with the Saifiti's and Ese,ese would give us so much strike power , teams would worry about playing us again.
We will have the cash to buy these 2 and a top line centre although i don't think we will buy or need a centre especially if we resign Sione because centre is the only place for him now and SKD is as good a centre as he is a winger and we have a few good young guys coming through that can play wing and centre .....Spend the money and buy these 2 monster props IMO .

Lets not buy for the sake of buying, I am quite concerned about Pearce and SKD getting loose already, yeah it's a small incident BUT.........
The pub didn’t even report the incident **** if a bloke is a crim for having one to many and being asked to leave then I’d get life in jail

Mate are you getting paid $100k's to represent your club, the town and the team.

Players every time they step out of the house are representing the Knights brand, and particularly one that is the stage of rebuilding in our town, we can't afford any slipups.

Gardiner clearly releases this hence the dressing down.

Let's not read too much in to a nothing incident.

The DT criticised Newcastle media for not reporting on players out and about and minor indiscretions. Fortunately, not all papers are out to drag the NRL through the mud at every chance they get.

It was a minor incident, Gardner took a pro-active step to re-iterate the expected behaviour. Nothing more to it than that. From what I've read Gardner didn't specifically warn Pearce or any player, just a blanket outlining of the expectations.

These blokes are not robots.

The media are absolute morons who don't care about the players or the game and only how many views their stories get. I say good on the knights for dealing with it in house and not making a fuss out of it.

Do we know what Pearce and SKD did?

Nothing of real concern here. Boys will be boys imo. The warning is a good thing, just a reminder to stay inside the lines

Re props. I think Pearce and Lamb will be recognised as one of the better halves combos in the comp by the end of the season, along with Ponga and multiple options at hooker weve arguably got the makings of a premiership spine. And all for about 2.5mil or so which is less than the top 4-6 sides in the comp

So we've got an advantage in our run towards filling out a premiership winning squad over the next 2 or so years

Got a bit too drunk and asked to leave, no one reported anything to anyone and it wasnt all over social media so i wouldnt worry, the twins had a push and shove?? so what! if they mess up then throw the book at them, we already know brown wont take crap he will drop any player no matter who they are.

Again it was pre season, if it was after the win on friday id be more worried.

Hey if that's all the was too it no drama's, however if they get to the stage of getting asked to leave every weekend not a good look so good if Gardiner had a word to them.

Can't imagine its too good for the body either during an NRL season lol.

I think the general warning can be put down to """nipping it in the bud""" . It now means players have been made aware and no excuses if they cause a problem.
If they were asked to leave then they must have done so quietly without fuss, a good sign they were aware of not causing further problems

Are you in the paper every other day or have 100 cameras on you at any moment in time while out in public?...

I'm sure the public awareness of a NRL player is a lot higher then that of yourself.
