Tolman to be let go

Yes it does you can pre pay salaries as we have done for the last year also how sharks got hodko so cheap we had already pre paid some of his salary last year

It works to clear cap space for the following yr for the team.

Though each player signs a contract worth xyz that xyz for each player totals to a amount that has to be within a certain percentage of the cap space.

So front loading players on 4yr deals in the nrl system doesnt count.

Assuming 88 is right is it possible to upgrade players contracts for this year to use up the required deficit by for example paying each contracted player an additional 10% in addition to current amount, 50k becomes 55k, 100k - 110k etc.
Amount of increase to be aligned with needed amount to fall within amount.
Would rather pay all the players additional money than be fined and a % amount for al seems fairest.

I don't understand the cap situation but basically it seems crazy to be fined for being under the cap when the whole system is based on not being over the cap.

Hypothetically, it'd be funny to see a club front-load all their contracts for a few seasons so most of their squad is off the cap at once.

Image what you could do with an entire season's cap to splurge on just half a dozen marquee players. Kinda sounds like the Roosters tbh...

I think there is a limit on how much you can frontload at a time. Or at least there should be

Because it's underpaying. Most our players are earning probably what they would at other clubs, so we don't wanna start overpaying them just to catch up. We're just behind because we don't have enough big earners. As long as we get above board when the NRL wants us to, then it's exciting that we have the money to attract a couple high quality players to the roster still.

But wouldn't new signings only count if signing is for 2018, a signing to commence in 2019 would not help our situation of possible fine?????!

Well yes, we need those quality players this year, that's why there's a bit of a risk involved. The point I was making is that I think a lot of us are pretty happy with how our roster is looking already, so the fact that we still have a lot of room left is exciting, providing we actually get a chance to use it & not just prepay some players.

U know this how?
I’m sure I have heard it that we will pay players early if need so! It’s counted towards this years cap! From what I have heard it’s does both clears cap room but also eleviates cap pressure
