We've been told the Dogs footy department is desperate to alleviate a ton of salary cap pressure before the season begins and the player's name we're hearing is Aidan Tolman.
What do you think imo he is a work horse toiler that wouldn't hurt in knights colours ...
 
Hes a great player and would create even more competition for spots.
if we get him quite cheap i say yes.
if we have to pay full market value or overs i dont see the necessity.
 
Solid player who has played in some good systems. Sounds like a typical Brown signing.
 
I think a team like parra who need a good prop and have spare cash would give him a pretty good offer. and he probably wouldnt have to move his family either.
 
Brown says he is looking for a prop and a centre if the right ones come on the market, so i'll be surprized if we don't make an offer.
He is a Kempsey boy and started his career playing for the Storm's feeder team when they were playing out of Wyong, so he'd have no problem with living in Newcastle.
 
After thinking about it, i say yes. we have the cap space for this year and we will definently need him next year when Heington retires and we might not re-sign Lillyman.
 
True about Lillyman and Heighinton

And lets face it, Tolman is better than both those players imo. So he is an immediate upgrade on current stocks
 
Agree, sign him if price is right and beyond this season to cover probable loss of Heighinton and Lillyman, how old is he, can we get two good seasons plus.

I’d say he’s on par with Lillyman. Higher work rate but less impact. Tolman is a few years younger though.
 
This is old news.

It was broken here on the forums Tolman had signed with us in 2015 for the 2016 year! It's just he has flown under the radar maybe?
 
I don’t think we need him with the additions of Ese’ese, Lillyman and Heighington, but I’d certainly take him as he’d be an upgrade for us. He’s a solid, hardworking, dependable vet.

IMO pecking order would be:

D. Saifiti (starting)
Tolman (starting)
Ese’ese (bench)
Lillyman (bench)
J. Saifiti (fringe/depth)
Heighington (fringe/depth)
King (depth)
