Boyd Cordner

Im a fan aswell but id have graham here if i had to choose.
This. I have a massive wrap on Graham. A complete player.

Cordner, Gillett and Jackson are all good players with different strengths but Graham offers so much more in attack than any of them. Great ball player, strong running game and really good selective kicking game to boot. Frizell and Papali are a different type of player again, battering rams who hit bloody hard but Graham is a better all round player. Definitely the best backrower going around.

Wade is my favourite player, id offer him 1mil a yr no probs at all.
Also according to the gps system the players have now, Wade is actually the hardest hitting defender in the nrl.
Ill try find the info on it and link it asap...

Its a tele article, who has a subscription??

I would give up Guerra and Sione for him. Between the two, that would easily give us $800k+.
Could we really give up two players for one and continue to be competitive in both first and reserves, we have Guerra and Sione, he doesn't want to come here especially based on his new anticipated signing. We could sign every top class player, probably be in trouble with cap police, and we couldn't afford any other players other than fringe reserve graders if that. Let's be a bit realistic and look at who is available rather than offend those we have.

It's just a hypothetical, of course it can't happen, but if you were given the offer, you'd be stupid not to get Cordner for Guerra & Sione.

Australia has some superb second-rowers, Cordner is the prototype classic second-rower, Graham is absolute quality player & Frizell is a freight train. Would do almost anything to get those last 2 to the club, Cordner would be good too if his body isn't ruined.

Relax, it was a hypothetical. I’m just saying for the money he signed for, despite it being slightly overs, I’d take him for that over Sione and Guerra for the same amount – for example.

As for everyone wrapping Graham, I’m a huge fan. Me and my brother have followed him closely for many years now. I even played against him in junior footy.

Back when he was playing five-eighth for Penrith, we were screaming for him to move to second row where we thought he would blossom. When he did, he really found his feet and has developed into arguably the best second rower in the game. On his day, he’s the best. No doubt in my mind, but I’ve watched almost every single one of his games and I think Cordner is more consistent and trustworthy on a game to game basis. Graham at times can be ill disciplined and error prone.

His peak is higher than Cordner’s, but his floor is lower than Cordner’s too, that’s why I give Cordner the slight edge. I just think he’s more consistent overall and has been doing it for longer. I do love me some Wade Graham but. One of my favourite players for sure. I’ve been screaming for him to play rep footy for a while now.

Ben Murdoch-Masila What about this bloke he played well in the world cup and apparently isn't signed 6'1 and 120kg and he would be on a 1/4 of what Cordiner would want ...

No thanks, the reporters dribbled about him in the world cup, but he didnt actually do a lot.
His a lazy boat anchor imo. Hence why he went to SL at 22yrs old.

Apparently there are a few clubs after him so he cant be too bad and i remember some of his game although not a lot and i thought he went ok

That's becuase he is garbage and a significant downgrade on our current options

Any player we sign now should be to improve our squad overall, especially 1st grade, no need to buy players of similar or less ability than our current players no matter what the price, unless young with heaps of potential.

The guy would be good if the NRL had double the interchanges it has now. Blessed with great physical ability, but just not the fitness or mindset to play at NRL level.

Roosters must have oversold his knee issues if they are 'gamble' on a five year deal

As for w graham he came to the sharks during the asada stuff so I don't know if much can be looked at that much like most of the other players who've left the sharks since, like Douglas and snowden

Roosters know they can pay him Brown paper bags and not miss a beat if breaks down in 18 months.

Gotta wonder whether they're relying on them being able to wipe him off the books through an insurance settlement if his career is cut short (unless it's precluded as a pre-existing injury).

On a side note, with talk of SBW waltzing back into their squad this season the muttering about brown paper bags (maybe should be referred to as Poltis or Bennett sacks) will become an uproar.

SBW isn't going to help their front row get the roll on that suddenly alludes them in the big games.

Roosters might go well during the regular season games but when it heats up in the finals their soft, underbelly front row will go missing again.

Fair point. Napa and JWH will have a point to prove after calling out the Cowboys in last years finals
A lot will depend on how they bounce back, hope they go missing in action this season
