2018 halves combination

When the Roosters played the Cowboys in the finals you could have sent a search party for Pearce and still not found him. Didn't want to get involved and when he did he was falling over and doing those horrible cross field bombs all night. Morgan totally owned him.

The Roosters had every right to win that match convincingly, but they didn't show up.

Pearce put up less of a fight that match than a certain pooch.

lambs a first grader at which clubs besides this one? Would the roosters, broncos, storm say nah we will just wait it out and hope he lives up to the hype in 5 years time or would they take the oppurtunity to instantly better their squad when the chance came?

those teams mentioned have raised young halves and given them a shot. young halves dont have a year of first grade and become JT. Esspesially behind a rubbish forward pack.
 
If we put Lamb, Hodko, Watson and Cogger out on the curb with a sign around their necks "free to a good home" - Lamb would be gone in the morning, and the others might have been picked up by the scrap merchants.

He’s half right Dan Lamb is a first grader at most clubs IMO but the top clubs wouldn’t go into the next season with 2 rookie halves especially if they have an opportunity to sign a current SOO half. My personal opinion is Lamb is a star in the making but he will take a few years to get there again IMO

Roosters have jumped on a half to apparently instantly improve their team. They are clearly gambling on winning a gf with cronk. Already it has upset players and who knows how the team will go with cronk.

Now, the thinking on here is get pearce for two seasons then he goes back to rooters. We are not likely to win a premiership in the next two years..

What do you think lamb is going to learn more from. Watching pearce play from the sidelines whilst he plays reserves? Or playing first grade building a combination with Watson and developing our young spine.

For mine we are in a better position if we stick with our young spine and develop that for those two years.

Yer i understand that logic kurriboy, but what your saying is we should right off the next 2yrs aswell for the sake of developing combinations with the assumption that this squad will be together long term? to right off another 2 years and say we are building is coaching suicide. Like i said brown has to do everything he can to win a comp within 3yrs.
im not saying throw lamb to the scrap heap but his playing ahead of his time and if the oppurtunity comes up to sign a player that will help us in the next 2yrs why not take him.
 
Yeah something about not trying to win a comp next year because it will leave us broke for the next 5 years or some rubbish. And sticking with locals lol. Write ya strongest 17 down now with what we got and you will realise old browny sold you that line when we had no cash to play with.

To me his already been very stoic and handy in well beaten packs.
 
We are rebuilding. At the first sign of getting off the ropes we are trying to throw big money at 1 player trying to buy a premiership.

You say Brown has to do everything he can to win a comp in 3 years. Thats the thinking that will see us rise off the canvas only to sink back down again yo-yoing at the bottom half of the table.

Gardner has said he would like Brown here long term. That tells me he doesnt have to win a comp or nearly win it in 3.

We need to be developing our team with a long term goal of continual incremental improvement. Moving our average final position up the ladder.

Pearce is not going to improve us long term.

i think your being to far sighted. if we are not contenders during browns contract extension he wont have a job. wests have already stated he will have performance based kpi's should he be extended.
Im going to agree to disagree on the pearce subject seems as though im in the minority here .
