2017 NRL Season: Finals Week 1 discussion

Phew, now that was a lucky escape for the sharks... After looking like they were doing their best to lose that game, it took them all of extra time to do so

'It took the whole team working together to lose this one'.

It was a gutsy win from the Cowboys, They kept fighting and in the end they got the win

The refs were shocking, Both teams copped dud calls and once again that's what will be in the news tomorrow I fear

Klein shouldn't be in the NRL but his mate Tony will look after him

Sorry listo it should have been $750 thousand each not half a mill each. For mine treat everyone the same and stuff Bellyache and co.

On the game, Bird had an absolute shocker and pleased we get Moga. Gallen brought the Sharkies undone. Ten metres out in front of the sticks the ball should go to Maloney for a field goal and a win, but old Mr Selfish has to take it up one out and lose the ball.

His brain is like his melon. Busted!

Fifita also deserves a mention. Running cross field was the dumbest option possible until he decided to pop an offload to nobody. Utter stupidity.

They were in good position to kick a field goal as well, Very stupid

Gallen killed them with that one out stuff ten metres out when it should have gone to Maloney for a field goal and a win one minute out.

Said over a month ago the Sharks were cannon fodder for the finals. Couldn't even beat a Cowboys side minus JT with the so called over rated Morgan running the show with a halves partner on 1 leg and at a stadium we haven't won at in 7 years.

What a team. Plenty of life left once the great JT hangs up the boots.

I have to say I thought Te Maire was shocking for someone who was being talked about as one half of the Panthers' future halves pairing a year ago. People are too fast to call everybody coming through a future star these days. He might be playing injured I guess, but that game really put me off him.

He is playing on one leg. Injury was mean't to keep him out for approx 1 month. He came back after a week.

Same with Winters. No way in the world his hammy is even close to 100%

Yeah Morgan has been out of this world. He was terrible early in the season but since the Anzac Test he's been brilliant. The fact that the creative guys around him have below par makes what he's done even more impressive.

Your forwards are great though. I honestly believe that Taumalolo is your most valuable player now, ahead of even Thurston.

Morgan has typically started the season slow the last 3 seasons in my opinion but once the rep season is around the corner he turns it on. He has a proven track record now of being a class player. I don't get how he was called over rated by many early in the season.

In all my 26 years of life I have not seen a forward like Taumalolo. What he does doesn't seem humanly possible but he does it so consistently now. I can't see how he will do this for the next 10 seasons but I don't care. Already my favourite cowboy ever now surpassing Matty Bowen and a great chance of being the first 300 gamer for the club.

I expect them to get touched up next week though. The Eels are a very classy side that play a very aggressive and attractive style of footy in my opinion. I'd like to see them win once they knock us out.
