Official: Peter Mata'utia leaving the Knights

What is it with the Matitus or however u spell it rushing out of the line. They are like dogs bolting out of the gate when u get home.
Is effort a bad thing, they, Sione and Pete put in big time, take them out of the side NOW and we are not so good, wake up we have what we have what you say and all the knocking doesn't change the squad and who would we put in.
I think Elliott is good but not in place of Pete, Fitz is good but not in place of Sione, it's all right whinging and complaining but what is the answer NOW.

Sides like Melbourne and Cronulla, the whole defensive line rushes up pretty quick -with us, some guys do, some guys don't.

In Sione's case Burher.
Though who do we use to cover levi? Or do we start levi and burher in the backrow and bring sione on to cover Burher why Burher covers levi

All i know is having a great backrower out of position to fit a lesser player in is madness.

Buhrer is a starter at 9 bring Levi on later, works well, has nothing to do with Sione because no one is saying I will have his position, that may change next year with Guerra, rest are still learning, Barnett is sometimes good, looking at bench next year, King to 13 if not in top 4 props. Bottom line is we have many options which is Good, utilising the bench is the secret.
Put the best 17 on and utilise them to best advantage, if Sione is best 13/17 then it is what we have.
The argument isn't do we play Sione because he is Captain/the Messiah or is he our best option.

It's not an issue if they make the tackle stick. Problem is they are always getting bumped off going high. Or ending up in Disneyland.
Said it weeks ago re Sione when he goes mid section or below with the shoulder he never misses. When he goes high it's what you said.

IMO, for Sione that'll come with time. The rushing up though is probably him trying to lift the team a little with a big hit or two, he'll get better at executing that. One of the things that swung me to him playing in the SR was his ability to kick, he's not bad when he's dribbling the ball and finding the line.
With regards to the Peter, I don't reckon he's a bad player, or someone that we need to get rid of. He's probably a good second tier player kind of like Capewell at the Sharks someone that's going to keep the competition up in the centres. If he moves on to ESL, I'd like to see a couple of the more junior guys play centres i.e., Phythian, Hughes maybe? Especially after seeing the last game with SKD doing a great job coming off the wing.

Correct Knighted a second tier player.

Regarding Sione, I think he had reached maturity much younger than Caucasian guys. Read Billy's post about being so dominant through juniors, under 16s, 18s and NYC. Pacific Island descent lads coming from a background of squat, strong ancestors get that strength early in life and maturity with it. Tongans, Fijians etc are all very strong people. I would like to see Sione given a run at 5/8 after some private tuition from Matty Johns maybe.

I love how people hold on to this notion of half and 5/8 when the reality is these days you have a left and right side play maker for the most part.

That aside Watson isn't coming to do most of the kicking, steer the side around and feed the scrum. He's a ball runner, and a pretty handy one at that!

Knights fans are so impatient when it comes to Sione. No matter how much effort the guy gives for the team there'll always be something that people knitpick at.

His played 50 nrl games, all have been with effort, only about 10 his been as good as the hype his talked of.
I dont actually attack him or want im gone, though i will stand by MY OPINION that his not big enough for a forward and should move back out wide where his frame suits best.

Heck this thread is about Pete who puts in just as much effort as Sione and people are fine with him leaving unless his willing to play for 100k. Sione is on something between 4-500k.

Not me, I say keep them both. Where ever he plays, Sione is more then good enough to wear a Knights jersey. Pete has done enough also, he's busted his arse for us in a beaten side week in week out, I'd like to see him rewarded with a contract

Sione is still super young, but there are legitimate concerns that the naysayers have. I do think second-row is his position but he is no doubt is small for a second-rower, I doubt he'll be getting bigger. He's played over 60 games & is pretty experienced now, doesn't matter how young he is, when he's played that many games he should be used to it & consistent or you're not a first-grader. I'd hate to move him out to centre & see no ball again. I do like the idea of putting him on the wing again, he'd be a wrecking ball winger. But I have hopes he'll be consistently good behind a better forward pack next year.
