I agree with his presence and competitiveness and leadership but if his workload was to drop 20% on this year than i dont think he is worth anywhere near the 1 million being quoted , because i love my stats i had a look at our 3 best props side by side andhad a look at what the stats would look like if Dan and esse did not improve (which i think they will) and grahams work load dropped 20%. Grahams defence is impressive makes a lot more tackles than dan and esse and misses less has only missed 9 all season. I personally think Dans running game is the best of all 3 this year considering he is more of a target than the other 2 as he is our only decent prop makes nearly twice as many offloads as the other 2 has made 3 line breaks this year which is impressive for a prop.
GRAHAM
123.1 m a game 34.1 tackles 0.6 missed 0.4 offloads 0.0 line beaks errors 0.5
DAN SAFITI
112.5m a game 23 tackles 1.8 missed tackles 0.7 offloads 0.2 line breaks errors 0.3
HERMAN
105.5m a game 20.9 tackles 1.3 missed 0.3 offloads 0.1 line breaks errors 0.2
GRAHAM
98.4m a game 27.2 tackles 0.6 missed 0.4 offloads 0.0 line breaks errors 0.5

Chuck lillyman in there

can see why the cows gave taumalolo a lifetime deal.

174m in the first half without any line breaks

Then Greeny decides to leave him off while the Roosters run riot in that first 15 minutes of the 2nd half.

Left the rookies out to get slaughtered.

It was a red letter day for our young props yesterday.
Jacob Saifiti - career best game
Dan Saifiti - one of his top 5 games
Josh King - career best game, or maybe just second behind the roosters game
Joel Fitzgibbon - his best game as a prop - not as good as his second row form yet.
Tyrone Amey - a strong 60 minutes
Pasami Saulo - career best game in reserve grade
Cam King - career best game in NYC
Matt Croker - career best game in NYC.

I'm a lot more optimistic about our prop depth today than I was yesterday.

I am excited for next year if our props can dominate like the did yesterday and Levi, Ponga, Watson playing of the back of that. I really like what I have seen of Pasami Saulo do you think he will be part of the first grade squad?

Saulo will be the same age next year as the Saifiti's, Tapine, Sam Stone, Lamb and Cogger were when they got a firstgrade off season, and a year older than Sione and Brodie Jones were - and Saulo looks as good as those guys to me.

Getting this improvement consistently in FG is the key.

I'm with you Billy I think Saulo is a great prospect.

Imagine how these young guys would improve for a season or two with James Graham!

Rumor is James Graham is 100% on the market now for 2018.

We know we can afford his price, though id hope we get the dogs to cover 300k or so and we get him for 700k in 2018-19.

Hhmmm...... that's still a lot of coin 88, for a player near the end of his career, and with a dodgey neck?

with his 1 mil price tag its a big gamble given his neck injury. but if dogs cover 300-500k of that then id definitely say yes!

Newcastle have essentially all the power in these negotiations as bulldogs need to shed players and therefore we should be asking the doggies to pay 1/2 of Graham's salary for 2018.

They wont pay 500k for him to play elsewhere mate,
They would just offload a 500k player and maybe pay 100k to said club.

Rumor? Came straight from James Hooper lol... anyway, dogs are getting desperate to off load him, so we now hold the upper hand. We should be getting as much as we can out of them. If we get him at 500k that's still 500k off their cap.

Sounds like a fair deal to me.
