Lot's of players being rested from Matts.
Mitchell Black (hooker), Bradman Best (fullback) and Harry Croker (second row) are 3 we might miss.
But still, it's 1st against 16th. We haven't lost a game and they haven't won one - and it's virtually impossible for us to lose the minor premiership anyway.

O
Some good players missing but they won't lose much with McKenny and Doney those two have the best motors in the squad.

Only my opinion. McKenny should be starting lock, That kid could go to any other Harold Matts team and be a starting player week in week out.
Can tackle and offers a lot in attack. Great player

It might be a good tactic to use guys who haven't had many chances yet.
I've noticed over the years that a lot of last round games are upsets, and it seems to be because a lot of kids think they are having their last game at this level and have the game of their lives - nothing to lose.
Maybe some of our regular guys would have taken this a bit easy against a Wests side who will be playing the game of their lives, but our fringe guys will be equally desperate to go out winners.

SG ball / we had high hopes
Great trials
Great rotation
Great for the 22 that trained hard all pre season ( toughest ever)
Then rotation stopped / players didn't get game time or very little.
How sad for those boys that trained so hard. To sit and watch!
The regulars players played each week and they were individuals./ lost the plot!
Croker / Hoy were outstanding I can say.
But I sit here scratching my head / why wouldnt the coach keep doing what he was doing in the trials / because they were great and they all played for each other .

We only can try again next year. .

Go Matts
Go the Knights

15. Benjamin Talty
16. KC Edmonds
17. Brock Gardner
18. Neihana Oldman
20. Tyran Ott
21. Senn Kane

Come on Tony mix it up put them in the 13
Give these boys a go!

15. Benjamin Talty Needs game time
16. KC Edmonds. Needs game time
17. Brock Gardner. Needs game time
18. Neihana Oldman. Hasnt played all comp big boy ! Come on ! Need a game.
20. Tyran Ott. Needs game time
21. Senn Kane. Can play front / second/ lock / big mobile boy / needs game time .

We might get a win???

Matts won 50-6 in what was little more than a training run for them. They didn't play nearly as well as last week, but the opposition will finish the season winless in 16th spot, which is about right for them. They only had about 3 players who would get a run for the Knights. The only worry out of the game was Max Buderus went off with a leg injury about 5 from the end, but it didn't look too bad. He wanted to stay on and run it out, but they took him off.

Ball scored 7 tries to 7, but lost 32-38. I only stayed till halftime, but it looked a pretty even contest.

Knights Matts side will play Illawarra in the 1st v 4th qualifying final at Hammondville Oval in Western Sydney 12pm Saturday.
We haven't played Illawarra, or the 2nd and 3rd placed teams either.
We have beaten the teams that came 5th, 6th, and 7th.

In round 6 Illawarra had an 18 all draw with the Roosters, who we beat by 60 two weeks ago, but Illawarra have had 3 big wins in the last 3 rounds, so they seem to be in very good form right now.

You cant compare previous games & results with who the Knights have played & Illawarra - If that is the case In round 6 Illawarra had an 18 all draw with the Roosters, who we beat by 60 two weeks ago

But in round 2 the Knights beat Raiders 42-24 - Who Illawarra beat 52-10

Doesn't work that way Billy. New competition now & id be expecting Illawarra -Sharks & Parra will all be hard games & gunning for our Knights boys

Lowrie is saying in a few interviews that 5 or 6 players from the Ball side will go into the NYC squad. He has named Matt Crocker on the bench this week.

5 or 6 players into NYC .? Do you know who they will be.? No offence but our SG Ball side finished 3rd last this year do they really think those players are upto NYC.

Lowrie still needs to have players for under 20s next year.
He needs to replace 10 or 12 players a year, as guys get too old for NYC.
If he doesn't develop these guys, he'll have to fill the team with Kiwis or someone.

Knights are up 24-12 after 28 minutes
Achruch 3, Best, Buderus tries, Buderus 2 goals
