If I was Kholi I would be more concerned about my woeful form with the bat.

India took all before them and he pressure is on Kholi.

New Rankings are out, First post updated

- Jadeja has overtaken Ashwin to become the number 1 test bowler
- Warner slips from 5th to 8th
- Pujara jumps from 6th to 2nd and overtakes Kohli
- Kane Williamson goes from 2nd to 5th in the batsmen rankings
- Shakib Al Hasan has overtaken Ashwin to become the number 1 ranked all rounder
- AB de Villiers is out of the top 10 batsmen and is replaced by team-mate Quinton de Kock
- Josh Hazlewood slips 1 place to 4th in the bowlers rankings
- Broad and Anderson both rise in the Rankings too
- Smith increases his lead at the top to 80 points
- Bangladesh within 3 points of overtaking the West Indies

I didn't realise Warner was so average away from home till I saw the article on cricinfo today.

From an NZ perspective I agree with Williamson dropping down to fifth, that sounds about right for him atm. He hasn't been in great touch since taking over the captaincy.

Wagner should be number one, not ten though. :p My favourite NZ bowler since Shane Bond, love his passion!

Warner is just a flat track bully, he is out of his depth in India at present

Could you post the link to the article on Warner because I could not find it on the Cricinfo website.

Well Lefty you know I am a critic of Warner's but I got a great laugh after his comments to the media in the last few days.

#1. Renshaw and I have to do better at the top. In my view, Renshaw as a 20 year newbie, is batting just outstandingly well.

#2. I am in great form. The runs just aren't flowing.

I think he should not be allowed anywhere near a microphone by the team management.

I agree, a sad case of denial.

Unless the wicket in Daramarsala is fast and bouncy, he will be found out again.

Warner is like Dougy Walters.
Ian Chappell used to encourage Dougy to play his natural game, because any time he hit a quick hundred he won the game.
If Warner goes out on day 1 of this last test and hits a hundred off a hundred balls, we'll win the game and the series.
If he fails, the other guys will have to try to grind out another draw.

I love watching Williamson, The guy is all class

Hopefully his form picks up !!

Dharmasala will be atypical Indian conditions. It's right at the foot of the himalayas so it'll be much cooler than other parts of the country. That might work in Australia's favour

Also because it is 1500m above sea level, it will suit Pat Cummins. Remember he made his dream debut at Jo'burg which has a elevation of 1753m.

Hazelwood said that the pitch could either be made fast or as a turner. The Indians won't make it a fast wicket after the way Cummins bowled in the last game.

What do you expect, what a stupid thing to say if you want a truce! The Australian cricket team and admin can't help themselves.

Just wish they would concentrate on the cricket tbh

Over the pot shots and snide comments from both teams, captains and former greats as well

Yep it's pretty out of control between these two sides. Not a great advertisement for cricket.

I'm a traditionalist and strongly believe it should always be played in the right spirit but these 2 in particular seem to have real issues with each other

It's sad to see it, Sometimes it's like watching children fight in a playground..We even saw face pulling in the 2nd test

Australia won the toss and elected to bat

Comments on the pitch from Indian captain Ajinkya Rahane

"This is a very good track, this will remain good for batting for the first two-three days, We are playing five bowlers so we need to get two-three early wickets."

Comments on the pitch from Australian captain Steve Smith

"There is a bit of a grass, but there are cracks and craters there could be more bounce than on some of the earlier pitches, That's my reading but I have been wrong before."

Pitch Report from ESPN

There is a tinge of grass on the pitch, but there are dry spots aplenty. A new-ball pitch for the quicks. Dry underneath. Disconcerting turn expected third day onwards. So once again, the toss is crucial, and at least according to the experts, all the talk of pace and bounce might be unfounded
